Medium: photos, vacuum seal bags
Dimensions: site-specific

This is a set of exercises about possession through time, location, and movement. It is a set of photographs that must always be separated/absent. Each time they are presented in a space, one is always at the window while the other is at the other end of the room.

This is a set of photographs about crossing over. The photo was taken in the United States in 2011. The images are of life and lost objects that no longer exist. In 2012, I treated the photographs with a special coating in Australia, and the surface of the photos decayed rapidly. During my year-long travel in Australia, I preserved every fragment as much as possible. In 2020, I vacuum-sealed everything to preserve the pieces I still carried. The series invites the viewer to contemplate the role of time, location, and movement in shaping our possessions and the memories we hold onto. This set of photographs captures the fleeting nature of possessions and memories, preserved through time and travel.

The more I exhibit them, the more pronounced their absence becomes.
