The result of the 2016 US presidential election subverted the world I knew. I was educated through a Confucian filter. So the election results ran counter to the good worldview I actively pursue. For a moment, the truth that I believed in disintegrated. I had no idea what to do. Graph paper is a medium I have used for a long time. The grids are the metaphorical norms of society, I use them to critique and progress. During the process of creating, the paper becomes more and more fragile because of the continuous cutting and removing. Seemingly fragile, the structure gradually clears. By eliminating all unnecessity, I want to see through to the truth. I thought I was hollowed out, but going through the process made me stronger.
