I use performative sculpture: reading or printing the digital images on paper or printing the web address on the floor plan of the gallery space when I exhibit this work. The flexibility of display, form, and location pushes the fixed definition of what “sculpture” can be: challenging the physicality and materiality of public sculpture while pointing out social structure issues. Similarly, the work empowers the spectators to construct the structure while perceiving the work. This work aims to give power back to people to build their own social structure within a problematic sociality. It further proposes the notion that sculpture can be established without relying on a specific site.
